Botox is a purified protein derived from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum that is used to treat certain muscular conditions and wrinkles by temporarily paralyzing facial muscles. The treatment is officially approved to treat frown lines, but many experts have used it for years to treat a variety of other cosmetic problems. It smooth’s horizontal lines on the forehead, lines around the eyes, lines around the mouth, dimpled chins, and lines along the neck.
Today, Botox injections are being used artistically to lift the eyebrows and shape eyebrows, widen the eyes to produce a more balanced look, shape the jaw and sides of the face, or balance asymmetrical features (due to injury or surgery). In addition, studies have found that the inclusion of Botox cosmetics in traditional cosmetic surgery or other procedures (such as laser resurfacing) enhances the result. It is considered one of the best non-surgical anti-aging and anti-wrinkle treatments.
Botox cosmetics can even create more dramatic results by inhibiting tyrosinase, which produces melanin in the skin cells to treat wrinkles and reduce age spots and hyperpigmentation. When injected into these areas, it can help fade dark spots to prevent new pigment from being produced.
How does Botox Cosmetic work?
Using Botox cosmetics is a safe and effective way to get rid of frown lines from the forehead, the area between the eyes, the area between the eyebrows, as well as the so-called crow's feet.
Natural compounds can be used to treat wrinkles under the eyes, lip line wrinkles, and other lower facial wrinkles. A dynamic or hyperfunction line is corrected when the underlying muscle contracts with Botox cosmetics. You may notice these wrinkles or creases on your face when angry, tired, sad, or afraid. Using Botox cosmetic to weaken these superficial muscles results in a more relaxed appearance. The best results may be achieved when Botox is combined with a "filler," microdermabrasion, and an IPL (Photo-Facial Rejuvenation) procedure to decrease static wrinkles and smooth out creases when the muscles are relaxed.
Botox treatments work by blocking a chemical signal from the nervous system that activates the muscle. There will be noticeable effects in about 2-7 days. They reach their peak around one week after the treatment. In most cases, benefits from the initial treatment last for two to six months, with subsequent sessions giving even greater benefits.
Does this treatment work for everyone?
For adults age 20 to 65 years, this treatment is effective and safe. An excellent solution to unsightly wrinkles and creases on the top of your face, around the eyes, or just on the side of your eyes could be right here. Patients who are pregnant and nursing should be put off treatment.
Is it a safe cosmetic treatment?
BOTOX Cosmetic is a non-invasive treatment that has an extraordinary safety profile. Treatment sessions rarely result in adverse effects other than a slight prick from an ultra-fine needle. You may experience slight bruising for one to two days after getting Botox injections.
You shouldn't bend over or lie down after your treatment for about 2-4 hours. For several hours, do not exercise, lift weights or massage the area. Every 10-15 minutes for the first hour or so, you should use the treated muscles by smiling, frowning, or squinting. It is important to avoid alcohol, aspirin, or other similar products on the day of treatment.
