Microneedling Fredericton

Support collagen production and improve skin texture with Traditional Microneedling in Fredericton

Fredericton Microneedling Certified Experts

Vibrant Salon and Spa now offer traditional microneedling in Fredericton. This non-RF treatment uses fine needles to stimulate your skin's repair response and may help improve the appearance of fine lines, uneven texture and acne scars.

Both traditional and Potenza RF options are available through our Fredericton medispa. The information below covers traditional microneedling without radiofrequency energy.

What Is Traditional Microneedling?

Traditional microneedling is also called collagen induction therapy. A device with fine needles creates small, controlled punctures in the skin. This encourages the body's healing response and the production of collagen, a protein that helps support skin structure.

The aim is gradual improvement in how your skin looks and feels, rather than an immediate change after one appointment.

What Skin Concerns Can Microneedling Help With?

Depending on your skin and the treatment selected, microneedling may help with:

  • Fine lines: Softening the appearance of some fine lines and wrinkles.

  • Uneven texture: Improving the look and feel of rough or uneven skin.

  • Acne scars: Making some scars left by previous breakouts less noticeable.

Acne scars vary in shape and depth, so they do not all respond in the same way. The goal is improvement, not a promise to remove every scar or create completely smooth skin.

Is Microneedling Right for Your Skin?

Traditional microneedling can be suitable for many skin types and skin tones, including darker skin tones. However, the right treatment approach depends on your skin condition, medical history and treatment goals, so a skin assessment is recommended before proceeding.

Active acne, cold sores, skin infections, open wounds or an eczema flare may mean treatment needs to be delayed. People with certain medical conditions, a history of poor healing or raised scars may also need additional assessment before microneedling.

Tell your provider about any history of raised scars, problems with healing, medicines you take, and whether you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Blood-thinning medicines and conditions that affect your immune system can also affect suitability. Do not stop prescribed medication on your own to prepare for an appointment.

What Happens During a Microneedling Appointment?

A typical appointment includes skin preparation, the needling procedure and aftercare guidance. The exact steps depend on the device, treatment area and your skin.

Preparing Your Skin

Your skin is cleansed before treatment. Topical numbing cream is commonly used to reduce discomfort, although the product and preparation time depend on the treatment. Let your provider know about allergies or previous reactions to numbing products.

During Treatment

The provider moves the microneedling device across the selected area. You may feel a prickling or scratching sensation. Discomfort varies, and numbing does not mean the procedure will be completely painless.

Ask our team how much time to allow for your visit, including preparation and aftercare instructions.

What Should You Expect During Recovery?

Your skin may look red and feel warm, tight or mildly swollen after treatment. Dryness or light flaking can also occur. These effects often settle over a few days, but recovery varies with the treatment and your skin's response.

Microneedling is not risk-free. Infection, pigment changes and scarring are possible. Seek medical advice for worsening symptoms, blistering, persistent bleeding or anything that concerns you.

Caring for Your Skin Afterwards

Follow the aftercare instructions for your treatment. Keep your routine gentle and ask when you can restart makeup, retinoids and exfoliating acids. Protect healing skin from sun exposure and use only the aftercare products recommended for the treated area. Your usual skincare products may irritate freshly treated skin.

When Will You See Results?

Results develop gradually over weeks to months as the skin goes through its natural repair process.

At Vibrant Salon and Spa, we generally recommend a minimum of 3 microneedling treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart. After the initial series, a maintenance appointment every 3-6 months may be recommended depending on your skin, treatment goals and response.

The number of visits needed can vary depending on what is being treated, the device used and your response. Your provider can explain when to review your progress and whether further treatment is appropriate. Results vary, and ongoing ageing means improvements should not be described as permanent.

How Is Traditional Microneedling Different From RF?

Traditional microneedling uses needles without radiofrequency energy. RF microneedling adds energy that heats tissue during treatment.

We also offer Potenza RF microneedling as a separate service. The two options have different treatment considerations and risks, so neither should be assumed to be the better choice for everyone. Discuss your skin concerns, medical history and recovery expectations before choosing.

Microneedling Pricing and Appointments

Traditional microneedling at Vibrant Salon and Spa is $300 per treatment.

Your provider can discuss whether a treatment series is appropriate for your skin and goals during your appointment.

Traditional and RF microneedling are separate services, so confirm which treatment your appointment covers. Call (506) 206-8855 to discuss availability or book your visit.

Common Questions About Microneedling

Can I Wear Makeup Straight After Treatment?

Do not plan to apply makeup immediately afterwards. Follow the waiting period advised for your treatment, and ask your provider before restarting products while your skin is still irritated.
