As we all know, a manicure is a beauty treatment for hands and nails. It could be done in a nail salon, or you can also do it at home with a manicure kit. But today I am only going to discuss some popular types of manicures which are in trend.
Standard Manicure
A basic manicure is the simplest and easiest form of manicure treatment. In a standard manicure, nails are filed and shaped. Cuticles are treated, they are cleaned and pushed back if required, and a hand massage is provided. Nail paints can be applied at the end, but it is optional and not necessary. A standard manicure is the cheapest and can be completed in a maximum of 25 minutes. You can also do a basic manicure at home with DIY Kit.
French Manicure
French manicure or French tips are most favorite among women because it offers a natural nail look. It’s classy and, if well done, so elegant and beautiful looking. French manicure includes all the steps of standard manicure. But white polish is applied on the nail tips, and rest of the nails are polished with nude or pink shades to give a natural look. French manicure can be done with artificial nails, or some clients prefer to have it on their natural nails.
American Pedicure
If you are getting ready for a casual occasion, then an American pedicure is the perfect option for you. American manicure is a modified form of French pedicure even though some people think this is another name of French. Like the French Mani, different colors of nail paints are applied to the tips. American manicure is considered more subtle, and paints used on the tips are more natural ivory shades. Usually, cream-colored based with off-white tips are used in American manicure.
Reverse French Manicure
Just like a French manicure, the reverse French manicure also consists of two shades. But in Reverse French, the moon of the nails are painted white and not the tips. It is the most trending manicure style among girls. Some clients prefer a darker shade on the remaining nail area with a white moon, while some prefer a pink or nude shade. You can do this manicure at home, or for a perfect look, you can go to your nearest nail salon.
Acrylic Manicure
After performing all standard manicure steps, natural nails are covered with a hard protective layer called Acrylic nails. Acrylic nails, also called synthetic nails, are created with a combination of powder polymer and liquid monomer. There is a variety of nail arts and layouts for an acrylic manicure. This specific manicure is an ideal option if you can’t grow natural nails, and you can achieve longer nail through acrylic manicure.
Gel Manicure
If you are looking for an odorless and long lasting manicure, then a gel nail manicure is the perfect option for you. Gel manicure lasts up to 3 weeks, and it’s also pocket friendly. Gel manicure involves all the necessary steps of standard manicure. Only the application of nail paint is different. At first, a base coat is applied, following with two gel nail polish coats. Then special LED lamp is used to dry the gel nail polish. The texture of the gel nail is smoother and durable when comparing to other nail paint options. Gel manicure does not damage your natural nails. You just need to take special care while removing it.
Shellac Manicure
Some people don’t like regular nail polishes due to drying time. While others hesitate to have gel manicure because it can damage natural nails if not removed properly. So shellac manicure is the best option for you because it involves the same gel manicure steps and offers the same advantages as its counterpart. And you don’t need to worry if you want to remove it. Because shellac nails can be removed with acetone without damaging your natural nail. Shellac manicure can be completed in 40 minutes and can last up to 3 weeks.
Spa Manicure
A spa manicure can be a standard one or a combination of different types of manicures. Your esthetician analyses your hands and fingernail's condition and can offer you the best services that you might actually need. Generally, a spa manicure consists of standard manicure, oil massage, and masks' application on your hands to give them a perfect look.
Hot Stone Manicure
Hot stone manicure includes all the necessary steps of standard manicure, but a hot stone massage to your hands is provided for extra relaxation. Stones are boiled in water and are placed (56C after maintaining temperature) on your hands. Also, some pressure is applied to specific points for relaxing your muscles. During a manicure, a hot stone massage also helps improve blood circulation and great for expelling any tension in your hand muscles.
Hot Oil Manicure
During Hot oil manicure, your nails and fingers are dipped into essential oils heated at a comfortable level. Then a hand massage is performed that leaves your cuticles and fingers well moisturized and nourished. A hot oil manicure is a perfect option if you have dry skin.
